John Edwards memorial collection, 1930s-1968.

Recording of interviews with Dwight Butcher (1911- ), Anglo- American country singer and songwriter, originally from Oakdale, Tenn. The interviews include biographical material about Butcher's musical, radio, and songwriting career, and his work with other musicians such as Jimmie Rodgers, Riley Puckett, the Pine Ridge Boys, Ernest Tubb, the Chuck Wagon Gang, and recording talent scout Ralph Peer.

Eugene Earle was born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, in 1926. In addition to amassing a large collection of country and western, blues, and jazz sound recordings, he also became a discographer and a founder and president of the John Edwards Memorial Foundation (JEMF). Riley Puckett was born May 7, 1894, and was blinded shortly after birth.
